GrooveWalrus 0.320 Released

Okay, 0.320 is out, it fixes the 'loading playlists' bug and adds a couple new features. Javier S. sent in some code (thanks!) to allow everyone to import their Grooveshark playlists. Steps:
1. Click the 'Import Grooveshark Playlist' option from the Tools menu.
2. On Grooveshark.com click (to load) the playlist you want to import into GrooveWalrus.
3. Copy the address from Grooveshark (eg. http://listen.grooveshark.com/#/playlist/Some+Playlist/346646845) the the import form and click OK.
4. Wait.
Finally, I included the Web Remote plug-in, you can use it to control your music from another computer, smart phone, or web-enabled refrigerator. Have fun.

Lyrics plugin

This program is really amazing, I'm so wondered with it.

However I need to say some things that I think need to be improved:

1) The lyrics plugin is really poor, lyrdb.com is clearly poor in content compared with other lyrics dedicated webs, I really recommend the feature that allows users to edit the lyrics in the plugin window (you can see this feature in the lyricsplugin for Winamp or WMP - http://www.lyricsplugin.com/).

2) Is there any way to make possible the "What I'm listening to.." plugin to integrate it with Windows Live Messenger. There are too many users, including myself, who likes to share this message in messenger window.

I really appreciate this program, the last.fm integration is clean an effective.

I hope my recommendations helps you to improve this great software.

Thanks.

Is the .zip version portable?

Hi, just wondering if the .zip version of GrooveWalrus is a portable app and doesn't make any changes to windows.

re: Is the .zip version portable?

Well, no. It does save settings in the current user's Windows app data directory, and caches some files in a temp directory too. A 'truly' portable version is on my to-do list.

gw hangs alot

This is happening a lot right now. Maybe Grooveshark's issue.

re: gw hangs alot

Yeah, see below "Problem/bug with the shuffle."

Problem/bug with the shuffle.

Just before I complain, I;m gonna say that this is an AMAZING program!!! It was what I was looking for.

I like to shuffle my songs so I always press the shuffle button before pressing play. But about 70% of the time, when I do that, the program immediately hangs.

When it does successfully play a song, it plays the whole song, but it does not go to shuffle to the next song. The pause button is still a pause button. I figured out that if I press the pause button, it works like a play button and 50% of the time, the next song plays. The other 50%, the program hangs as soon as I press it.

re: Problem/bug with the shuffle.

That might have something to do with some problems on the Grooveshark servers. I did notice it once, and it hangs when it's looking up what song to play (before streaming the song). Let me know if it persists over the next few days and I'll see what I can come up with.

Problem

I've got problem when I try to play song. This message pops out http://www.bildites.lv/images/22at3orsaxtu4syzd2l2.jpg

What do?

Also, when I try to open Error log, it says "Wrong Shortcut", but I can't find gw.exe.log anywhere in my PC.

re:Problem

The error seems like it might of been a temporary problem with Grooveshark's servers(?). Have you tried again since? If it's still a problem, run as administrator (see below) and send me the error log.

You'll need to run GrooveWalrus as Administrator for the error log link to work (right-click, run as admin).

Problem solved

I think I solved this problem - I just typed this version's number (0.320) in the "GrooveShark Version (which is under "Help"). Apparently I typed there "iii" some time before. And I really don't know why, lol.

Now it's working fine.

re: Problem solved

Ha. Okay. Umm, well that's not really what that's for, but if you like typing stuff in boxes who am I to stop you.

Great, very thanks ;)
