Frequently Asked Questions

There might be problems with your playlist saving incorrectly or something. Send me an email with the gw.exe.log file, found in your GrooveWalrus installation directory (or somewhere else, try using system search), and I'll fix the problem. Or if you don't want to do that try renaming/removing the playlist.xspf from:
XP
C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Program data\GrooveWalrus
Win 7
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\GrooveWalrus

On Linux you should be able to use it with Wine, http://groove-walrus.turnip-town.net/dru/node/101 or running the python source directly. OS/X will probably almost work when running from source, I don't have an OS/X machine to do any testing.

Either download the latest version of the setup.exe and install, or unzip the latest .zip, or try the in program Version Update feature. Your data is saved in the systems user data directory, so that should not be affected.

You need to be able to use GrooveShark in Microsoft Internet Explorer specifically. So open up IE and go to http://grooveshark.com and see if you can play music. If not, you probably need to download a new version of Flash for IE.

1. Sometimes Grooveshark updates how they do things, this may cause GrooveWalrus to stop working. You can try using the Flash plug-in, while you wait for a fix to be posted on this website.
2. Grooveshark sometimes doesn't work for awhile, check their website and see if you can play a song there. You can wait till you can play music on grooveshark.com OR try and play a different song.

GrooveShark servers are sometimes quite busy (ping it and see), if you go to GrooveShark.com and try and play the same song and it's not choppy there then you can complain to me.
